Ken is the diminutive of Kenneth Carson, he has that name because Ruth Handler's son is called Kenneth (Ken) Handler. His age is not known, it is believed to be between 20 and 23 years old.

Ken lives with his father Dr. Karl Kennedy in Wisconsin. Ken's best friend, Allan Sherwood, was introduced in 1964. Later, Ken appeared.
