The Barbie Diaries

The Barbie Diaries is an American computer-animated family film featuring the popular Mattel character Barbie, and is released by Mattel. directed by Eric Fogel (the director of the My Scene films). It is the eighth entry in the Barbie film series featuring the voice of Kelly Sheridan as Barbie and Skye Sweetnam as Barbie's singing voice. Produced by Curious Pictures, this is the last Barbie film distributed by Lionsgate in the United States and Canada. This is the only film not produced by Rainmaker.

A fresh and new look characterizes Barbie as a real modern teenager. She is starting a new course and I hope it is the most magical. In "The Barbie Diaries", Barbie is portrayed as a typical American teenager who is a sophomore in high school who encounters problems that real-life teenagers often encounter: make new friends, dates, gossip and get involved at school. She always beats her up around Raquelle, a snobbish girl who used to be her best friend in fifth grade. On the first day of school, she tries to become a presenter on the school's television station, but Raquelle beats her to it. Instead, she becomes Raquelle's personal assistant, buying her drinks and doing her work.

When Raquelle leaves Todd, he and Barbie begin dating and soon become a couple. Todd invites Barbie to the fall formal. Dawn and Reagan find out that Barbie only became friends with them because of her history and they stop hanging out with her. They tell Raquelle. Soon, Raquelle steals Barbie's magic bracelet. Tia and Courtney look at pictures from the story and discover that Barbie has told them a secret about Tia. They confront her and let her know that they no longer want to be friends with her. On story night, Barbie apologizes to her friends and instead chooses to show Kevin movie clips showing a chain of clipboards attacking her electronic book. Out of shame, Barbie refuses to go to the dance. The night of her dance, her friends arrive and tell her that she has to perform with them, giving her her dress that they left waiting for her at the mall.

Still worried that she doesn't have a bracelet, Kevin takes one of her guitar strings and puts it around his wrist. Barbie points out that it's a "cute piece of bent metal" until she realizes that's what her bracelet was. The girls rock out at the concert with Courtney finally able to do a drumstick maneuver that she couldn't do before. While she dances with Todd, she asks him about the notes in her locker, but he denies knowing about the notes. Barbie, confused, thinks about other people who were in the places the notes said. Realizing that it was Kevin all along, Barbie leaves in the middle of the dance and approaches Kevin. Kevin gives her back the charm bracelet he found on her bed. on the floor. She apologizes for never noticing, but she points out that the strange rhyme in the notes was a clue. The two dance together and become a couple. In the end, Barbie and Kevin watch a movie while eating ziti (pasta dish) like Kevin asked.
