We have more new items in the doll database!

The BarbiePedia database continues to grow every day, with a  titanic effort the web continues to grow both in content and development. As you have seen, little by little more and more functionalities are being implemented, others are being improved, new ones are being thought about and proposed. This is non-stop!

At the time I am writing this entry the doll database contains a whopping 6151 items. The items are of various types, but they all belong to Barbie, at BarbiePedia we are not limited to listing only dolls and we are not limited to the date of production or sale, we want a user-friendly database. ;useful for the greatest number of people, not just a few.

The visit counter was implemented Some time ago, it was also scheduled We now have the 3 usual icons to add to the lists and also a new one to simply mark as a "like", but when it came to Barbie, it had to be a I love it, don't you think?. 

A section called "Identifier" has been created, it is like a kind of image gallery where you can see the photographs with a short text, if I do not modify it in the future, I currently put the name, year and place of manufacture of those that I have been able to locate, if I have not been able to find that information, I limit myself to the name and if possible, the date. The date is something very relative, in each country it can dance for one or two years and that complicates things, if you add to this that those that were launched at the end of the year or the beginning of the previous one and that in the past ;or the stores did not respect the times so much and you could buy it a little earlier or a little later, that makes dating things a real chaos.

To facilitate the searches, organize the things a little more and to link the Barbie doll database from another point of view, I have created some menus with its representative image, a brief description n and if possible, breaking down the content. I will go putting mini menus and whatever comes to mind to make navigation easier and faster.

The search engine is very difficult to program so that it gives optimal results, at the moment it searches for exactly what it enters, which is why I recommend entering one or two words at most. I am thinking about how to do it so that it returns more results, but it is not easy, especially considering that the search and the names of the dolls vary a lot depending on where they are sold and what Furthermore, in each country they are called differently... Anyway, I'll think about it. How to do it, that this is something very difficult and you have to put hours and imagination into it to achieve something decent. Let's remember that the page you are seeing is my hobby, it is not my job and the time I dedicate to it, it is my leisure time, time that I stop spending with my family and friends, and that sometimes they are my hours of sleep...

As many of you already know, Mattel has eliminated the Barbie website that 1 year ago was a reference for everyone and that now there is a more general website with much less content, with poorer quality images, etc. It's a shame and this makes it very difficult to find dolls from before the year 2000
