Television
Barbie was one of the first toys used by television advertising as a marketing strategy. His first announcement was broadcast in 1959, in a pause of the “Mickey Mouse Club” program. His idea was more than a success, and almost all toy manufacturers signed up for bombing. Since the first time on television, more than one billion barbies have been sold in the world, and Mattel has come to affirm that three dolls per second are sold. But Barbie's relationship with television is not reduced to commercial ads. Between 2012 and 2015 the blonde had her own animated series, entitled "Barbie: Life in Dreamhouse". As for cinema, after a first film, "Barbie and The Rockers", in 1986, which was not very successful, the new millennium would change everything. From 2001 to the present, it has released more than 35 films and participated as a guest star in “Toy Story” 2 and 3.
