Barbie: A Cultural Icon (a cultural icon) takes visitors on a historical journey from its inception in 1959 to the present day. This journey teaches you how pop culture and fashion trends have shaped this global phenomenon. The exhibition celebrates Barbie as a reflection of culture, with exclusive interviews and an in-depth look at the oldest dolls, professional representation and fashion trends of each era. Today, Barbie is the most inclusive line of dolls in the world, inspiring girls and boys to imagine everything they can become.
Barbie is a role model, a muse, your inspiration, your best friend – Barbie means something to everyone. like this as fans have been influenced by Barbie, she has been influenced by them – their loves, their tendencies, their cultural references.
The exhibition was created by Illusion Projects and curated by Karan Feder, in collaboration with Mattel. More than 150 life-size vintage dolls, accessories and fashion pieces are brought to life through tastefully customized themed displays. You can also find videos and interviews with Barbie designers that expand on this experience. Barbie dolls from the David Porcello and Mattel collections are on display in this exhibition. You can't miss it!
