At the end of 1999 they released the Generation Girl computer video game Gotta Groove.

The CD was available under Windows 95 and Windows 98 platforms. It is also available for Macintosh from the 90s.

Become the star of the show with Barbie Gotta Groove Generation Girl. She learns dance steps from salsa to techno-pop.

She creates 3-D routines for custom music videos.

Design the costume, stage and dance cards. Print out pictures of her and add Barbie to her posters and bulletin boards.

Dance and perform the coolest moves with Barbie and the girlfriends of her generation!

Get moving and grooving with the Generation Girl Gotta Groove CD-ROM, where girls can create the best dance routines in incredible 3-D, right on their computers!

From hip-hop to techno-pop, salsa to swing, get to work designing their outfits!

Plus, girls can print their own dance cards to learn the routines on their own.

This program allows children to choreograph 3D dance routines for Barbie and her five new international friends. Girls can choose outfits for the characters, decorate the stage, choreograph, and then watch Barbie and her friends perform the dance.

Unfortunately, the tools of creativity are difficult to figure out, and getting dancers to do what you want can be a frustrating experience.

The program also lacks responsiveness, with many missed clicks. In addition to choreographing dances, kids can create a "personality page" for an on-screen scrapbook.

Teaches: creativity, dance
Age Range: 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13
