Rock & roll couturier Philipp Plein was selected to create a 50th anniversary Barbie® doll for the Feb 9th, 2009 world's biggest toy fair in Nirenberg, Germany. The occasion was "one-of-a-kind", so Philipp gave Barbie® the royal treatment.

The dress was decorated by hand with CRYSTALLIZED™ – Swarovski Elements. Barbie® Collector introduces a Platinum Label™ doll inspired by the OOAK creation, only distributed at selected retailers in Germany as well as the House of Barbie in Shanghai, and a very limited number in Canada and the United States. The silk dress will include 600-700 CRYSTALLIZED™ – Swarovski Elements.
