The Generation Girl series was a parallel line at the turn of the century. It was a short series about a group of 8 friends at an international high school in New York City.

The first set consisted of six characters:

  • Barbie
  • Nichelle
  • Lara (Marie in Europe)
  • Ana (Marissa in Europe)
  • Tori (Susie in Europe)
  • Chelsie

Barbie Fashionistas Wave 1

Each doll came with various accessories related to her hobbies (which, like her faces, would be reused over time), as well as a doll's face. as two different outfits (one for school and one for her hobbies). Each doll also came with a bookmark with her photo and a magazine where they all told us a little about each other.

Chelsie Generation Girl is British and loves music. She comes wearing a purple dress, hiking boots, ankle socks, a choker necklace and bracelets, a guitar, a microphone, an extra tank top, jeans, a purple shoulder strap bag, phone Cell phone, CD player, sheet music, and doll stand.

Like Generation Girl Barbie, this doll also has two versions of which the first was withdrawn for being "controversial" in this case it was because the doll was wearing several earrings and a piercing  in the nose.
