Made of flesh-toned plastic, the first Barbie® they wore a black and white knitted bathing suit that was worn in the summer. until 1961. In 1959 the accessories were white sunglasses with blue lenses, open black shoes and hoop earrings.

The characteristics of dolls n. &SDR; 1 and no. &SDR; 2 were very similar, with one exception: the n. &SDR; 1 had holes drilled in her feet to fit into her doll stand. #2 didn't.
