Mattel
American toying company founded in 1945, by Harold Matson and Elliot Handler, to manufacture portarretas, before specializing in furniture for dollhouses. Fourteen years after its foundation, they presented what would be the company's flagship: the Barbie doll, work and grace of Ruth Handler, wife of Elliot. The undisputed wrist success, presented for the first time on March 19, 1959 at the New York toy fair, prompted them to take the path of toys. Ruth and Elliot adopted this date as Barbie's official birthday.
Mattel owns brands such as Barbie, Polly Pocket, Max Steel and Monster High. It has made production of other brands such as figures related to DC Comics. He owns large franchises such as Hot Wheels or Motu.
